In At the Site of Jonah's Burial for bass voice and piano by Gilbert Galindo, simple chords reminiscent of pop ballads and melancholic vocal lines with a bit of modernist drama give this new poem found in the book We Are In Danger of Drowning by Loren Moreno, a musical life. The poem, written in response to the ISIS bombing of the burial site of the prophet Jonah is full of conflicting emotion, which Galindo sets to capture in music.
